Photograph everything relevant to the scene also. This includes the roadway at the scene and any parts or glass that may have fallen into it, traffic lights, traffic signs that may have been ignored, the whole layout of the intersection, and anything else that may be useful to your case in terms of the surroundings that can be documented. As you are busy inspecting the scene (without disturbing any evidence), keep an eye out for any possible witnesses. These individuals may be more important to your case than anything else, by far, as they could be able to offer an eyewitness account of what happened during the crash.
While you know what happened from your perspective, a witness watching from another car of the sidewalk may have a comprehensive account of the crash. Request all contact information from as many witnesses as possible, including work phone numbers.
